Hedge Fund Risk Conference
Filed in archive Hedgetalk on May 3, 2007
Michael Markov, CEO of Markov Processes International, a provider of advanced financial tools and technology, is planning a conference to discuss methods of utilizing fund performance to gain insight into the risks and exposures of alternative investments.
"As hedge fund products have grown so significantly over the past several years, so have the risks to the investor, institution and the overall market," said Michael Markov, CEO of MPI. "As recent articles have pointed out, leverage is growing rapidly in these products, as are well publicized cases of fraud and fund meltdowns. It is crucial to have advanced quantitative tools that can provide insight and advanced warning of these risks. With this technology, investors could have anticipated and possibly avoided events like the 1998 long term capital management debacle."
