Australia is proving to be the new center of hedge fund investments in Oceania and Asia, according to Alphaville.
"Australia is unique in that regulators allow hedge funds to market directly to the public. Consequently, 65% of assets under management comes from retail investors - compared with a global average of 45%." Read more
It would be interesting to hear any news from anyone in the know about these Australian hedge funds, as I'm not finding much information about them in the main stream. I have a couple of filters up, but haven't heard much in the breaking news, so if anyone has any helpful links, they would be much appreciated.
