Utilizing Solar Energy to reduce Greenhouse Gases and Alleviate Poverty in Africa
Solar for Africa is offering corporates, brokers and individuals a means of obtaining Carbon Credits or becoming Carbon Neutral for their Greenhouse Gas emissions.
They are also appealing to Donor and Aid Organizations to donate Solar Cookers to Poverty Stricken families in Africa, as families desperate for cooking fuel have had to resort to tree cutting.
With Africa' favorable climate, it is highly feasible that Solar Cookers could be used 80% of the time in Southern Africa. In a recent survey carried out in haiti, 92% of the families who received Solar Cookers were still using them on a daily basis one year after they were distributed, it was reported.
Each Solar Cooker distributed is backed up by a Certificate – depicting the recipients name, address and GPS location, so that clients will be able to pin point their contribution using Google Earth. This will also enable them to track down and call in on the recipients, should they visit Southern Africa.
